TESOL for Middle School is a very demanding yet highly practical and rewarding course that prepares its graduates to teach elementary, middle and high school students. This four-week program takes the techniques and skills learned in TESOL and further develops them as students prepare and deliver four lessons, one each week, In addition, this course offers a number of fun and exciting field trips that provide inspiration and ideas, in an interesting and hands-on environment, for the students’ micro-teaching lessons. Upon completion of this course, TESOL for Middle School graduates will have earned the right to say “I can teach!”

The 4-week onsite studies and practicum component of TESOL for Middle School with Practicum is unique in that students actual partake in two mini-placements. They spend two weeks observing and teaching in the Juniors program at our ESL partner school. They also spend two weeks observing and teaching at a Canadian Middle School placement (depending on availability and school closures).
This unique practicum opportunity allows students to not only practice the realistic ESL style of teaching they are most likely to be doing once they return to their home country, but also allows them a glimpse in Canadian teaching styles and practices that they can contrast with their own cultures.
