TESOL for Children is a highly practical course that fully prepares its graduates for the challenging job of teaching English to children. This program builds on the skills developed in TESOL. All subjects are explored from the children’s perspective. After learning about physical, cognitive and emotional development, students can apply that knowledge to teaching topics like reading, writing, and phonics. Also covered is the effective use of games, songs, chants, and drama, all the while motivating children for long-term learning. Graduates will be ready to group students and positively discipline them in a wide variety of situations.

Practical experience working with children is invaluable and our 4-week placement provides it. Students can tailor their practical experience to the teaching placement type of their choice as we provide 4 different placement options (depending on availability and school closures).
TESOL for Children provides lots of in-class time to discuss and role-play concepts connected to cognitive development and classroom management, but those crucial factors of teaching children are magnified and clarified through experience with real children.
